Connecting your Stripe account to MemberPass

Overview

Stripe is the premier payment provider for MemberPass, offering a deep Stripe Connect integration. This allows for a seamless setup process without manually copying API keys.

Seamless Transaction Fee Processing

Through Stripe's deep integration with MemberPass, transaction fees are automatically deducted from incoming payments during processing—similar to how Stripe handles its own fees.

When using Stripe exclusively, you'll only pay your plan subscription fee (if applicable), with no additional usage-based invoices or charges from MemberPass.

Setup Instructions

Stripe configuration uses the Stripe Connect Onboarding wizard, so there are no settings to manually enter in the dashboard.

Initiate Connection

  1. Go to Payment Methods in your MemberPass dashboard.
  2. Click "Setup a Payment Method".
  3. Select Stripe from the list.

Select Mode

Choose your Connection Mode:

  • Sandbox: For testing with Stripe test cards.
  • Production: For processing real payments.

Connect

Click the "Connect Stripe to MemberPass" button.

You will be redirected to the secure Stripe Connect website.

Authorize

  1. Log in with your existing Stripe account or create a new one.
  2. Follow the prompts to authorize MemberPass to access your account.
  3. Once completed, you will be redirected back to MemberPass.

New Stripe Accounts

  • Incomplete Setup: If you exit, get interrupted or was unable to complete the process in one go (often that's the case because Stripe requires additional verifications such as SSN, ID cards, etc), you can resume linking Stripe Connect by finding the Stripe entry in your Payment Methods list, clicking the Options Menu (three dots), and selecting "Continue Linking Stripe Connect".
  • Verification Required: You cannot receive payments until your Stripe account is fully verified and charges are enabled. Please check your Stripe Dashboard to ensure your account status is active.

Management

You can manage your payouts, disputes, and view detailed transaction logs directly on your Stripe Dashboard.
