Email & Notifications
Control which emails MemberPass sends you — communications, marketing, promotional, advertising, and weekly performance digests.
By the end of this page, you'll know exactly which emails MemberPass sends, how each toggle affects your inbox, and how to keep critical notifications flowing while opting out of the rest.
Email preferences live at Settings → Notifications (URL: /settings/notifications).
What each toggle controls
There are five independent switches. Each can be turned on or off without affecting the others.
| Toggle | What it controls | Our recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Communication Emails | Product announcements, security advisories, policy changes | Keep on — some of these contain important account notices |
| Marketing Emails | New feature announcements, product launches, onboarding nudges | Personal preference |
| Promotional Emails | Discount offers, limited-time promotions | Turn off if you'd rather not receive offers |
| Advertisement Emails | Partner offers, cross-promotion with third-party services | Turn off for the lightest inbox footprint |
| Weekly Emails | A weekly digest summarising the performance of your projects (only sent if there's meaningful activity) | Keep on — it's often the only place you'll see trends at a glance |
Change your preferences
Go to Settings → Notifications.
Flip any switch. The row's label explains what that category contains — hover for the full tooltip text.
A toast confirms the save. The changes take effect for any email dispatched from this moment onward.
Already in your inbox? Emails that were queued before you saved your preferences may still arrive — they were prepared under the old setting. New emails after the save respect your new choices.
Emails you can't opt out of
Some emails go out regardless of your preferences because they're transactional, legally required, or essential for account security.
Billing and transactional
Receipts and invoices for your MemberPass subscription, and for payments collected through your projects.
Security and sign-in
Password resets, email-verification links, two-factor codes during recovery, and alerts when a new sign-in appears from an unfamiliar device. Also includes account-recovery notifications.
Team invitations
Invitations to join a team, and the confirmation emails when an invite is accepted — critical for collaboration workflows.
Legally mandated notices
Terms of Service updates, privacy policy changes, and (we hope never) data-breach notifications. These are required by regulators in some jurisdictions.
We deliberately can't disable the list above. These emails exist to protect you, and silencing them would put your account at risk.
The weekly digest in detail
If Weekly Emails is on, MemberPass sends you a weekly summary of how your projects are doing — new subscribers, revenue trends, and notable activity.
The digest is only dispatched when there are meaningful trends or sales across your projects; quiet weeks are skipped so you're not sent an empty email just for the sake of it. The toggle's own description says it best:
"Receive emails on weekly basis regarding the performance of your projects. These emails will only be dispatched if there are any notable trends or sales on your projects."
Subscriber-facing emails
Emails you send to your subscribers (receipts, welcome emails, email broadcasts) are controlled separately from this page:
- Automatic subscriber emails (receipts, renewal reminders) follow their project's own settings.
- Your one-off broadcasts come from Email broadcasts.
