Deleting Your Account
Permanently close your MemberPass creator account — understand what gets removed, what stays, and the safer alternatives.
By the end of this page, you'll know exactly what happens when you delete your MemberPass account, how to do it, and what alternatives to consider first.
Account deletion is permanent. We cannot resurrect projects, subscriber lists, historical payments, or team memberships after an account is deleted. Please read this page end-to-end before starting the process.
Before you delete — consider the alternatives
Often what feels like "I want out" is really "I want something specific to stop." Check whether one of these is enough:
| You want to... | Better option |
|---|---|
| Stop receiving marketing emails | Turn off toggles at Email & notifications — no deletion needed |
| Close one of your projects without closing your account | Archive or delete the individual project from its own settings — see Creating a project |
| Stop paying for a MemberPass subscription | Downgrade or cancel your creator plan from Activate your subscription instead of deleting your whole account |
| Leave the team of another creator | Remove yourself from the team under Teams & Roles — keeps your own account intact |
| Take a break | Sign out and don't sign in for a while. Your account will be waiting, but no-one will email you during the pause — especially if you turn off everything in Notifications |
If none of those apply and you really want to delete, continue below.
Delete your account
Open Profile Settings.
Go to Settings → Profile (URL: /settings/profile) and scroll down to the Delete Your Account section.
Click Delete Account Permanently.
This is a red/danger-styled button — hard to miss, easy to step back from.
Read the confirmation modal carefully.
The modal (titled "Confirm Your Request") summarises what deletion does. Take a moment — once you confirm, there's no undo.
Enter your current password in the password field.
This is an extra safety net — if someone else has walked up to your unlocked session, they can't delete your account without your password.
Your account is deleted and you're signed out. You won't be able to sign back in — the email is freed up for future use.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we remove (or anonymise, where we're legally required to retain records):
- Your profile — name, email, country, preferences.
- Your sign-in methods — password hash, passkeys, 2FA secrets, Telegram link.
- Projects you own and everything inside them — plans, access codes, branding, linked bots.
- Subscriber lists for those projects — their subscriptions and payments are cancelled.
- Team memberships where you were the account holder — your collaborators lose access to your projects.
- Your position on other teams you were a member of (the team itself continues to exist without you).
If you own projects with active paying members, deleting your account cancels their subscriptions and cuts off their access. Please consider transferring ownership (by inviting a trusted team member and handing over) or explicitly communicating with your members before pulling the plug.
What stays (by law or contract)
Some records can't be wiped immediately even on deletion:
- Financial transaction records required by tax and anti-fraud regulations.
- Issued invoices and receipts that already went to your subscribers — those are their records, not yours.
- Anonymised analytics — aggregated, no longer traceable to you personally.
- Legal holds, if any exist on the account because of an ongoing dispute.
We retain these for the minimum period required by the law of the jurisdiction they apply to, and then they're deleted too.
